BROOKSVILLE - A Brooksville woman was arrested Saturday after stealing a can of beer from a gas station, according to the Brooksville Police Department.

Erin Coleman, 33, of High Corner Road, was seen by employees of the Citgo gas station at 709 S. Broad St. taking a can of beer and leaving the store, a press release states.

Gas station employees followed Coleman on Broad Street until police arrived and she was arrested on two charges of larceny. Police found a half-empty can of beer nearby, still "cold to the touch," the arrest report states.

Coleman remains in the Hernando County Jail on $500 bond.

Court records show Coleman was adjudicated guilty of a misdemeanor charge trespassing in March, and of retail theft in October. In 2010, Coleman was found guilty of felony possession of marijuana, a controlled substance and drug equipment, and served about one month of a six month jail sentence.
