Dinosaurs at the zoo

DinoQuest2 They’re back through May 28 at Lowry Park Zoo and discover a limited engagement outdoor exhibit of 22 lifelike and life-size dinosaurs at the Zoo. This dynamic display features dinosaurs ranging from the treacherous Tyrannosaurus to the towering Brachiosaurus that move, blink and roar. Visit these prehistoric pals during the day and take a Zoo School program featuring primitive predators.

The zoo is located at 1101 West Sligh Avenue in Tampa.

Gather fun Dino facts, practice paleontology at the "I Dig It" fossil dig site, try moving the mechanical T-rex, and then speed down the "Velocity-Raptor" slide. You can also choose to purchase a relic from the "Shop-A-Saurus" gift shop.

This special event is an additional $4 per person, added to regular zoo admission. Regular zoo admission is $19.95 per child age 3 to 11; $22.95 for seniors age 60 and up; $24.95 per adult; children 2 and under are free. Free parking. Annual zoo passes range from $60 for individuals and up to $210 for family of two adults and four children. Free and discounted admission to over 150 zoos and aquariums nationwide. Dino Discovery Club Pass $16 per person. Pass members will receive unlimited admission into the DinoQuest2, with paid zoo admission and Dino Nites. Dino Discovery Club Pass requires paid zoo admission in the form of a zoo admission ticket or valid Annual Zoo Pass. Passes are nonrefundable and nontransferable and require a signature/ID. Some discounts are available.

The zoo opens at 9:30 a.m. and DinoQuest 2 doors open at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Dino Nites Have a DINO-mite time after dark at Dino Nites, a unique evening experience in the DinoQuest2 exhibit are with access to other amenities, including free zoo rides. Admission is $9.95 per person which includes DinoQuest, free rides and select areas of the Zoo. Dino Nites are free for annual zoo pass holders. Dino Nites is offered every Friday and Saturday evening through May 25, beginning tonight from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
