School is out for summer!
As the kids say, "Yay!" when it comes to no school for the summer, some parents may be left wondering what to do with the kids.
But don't despair, parents.
The Hernando County Parks & Recreation Department has a whole host of summer camp activities planned all summer long. From basketball, baseball, volleyball, soccer, golf, to cooking classes and a horse camp, they've got it covered. Check out the lineup, including:

Volleyball camp: June 17-20, July 15-18

Harry Johnson, recreation coordinator for Hernando County Parks & Recreation Department, said kids will learn the fundamentals of the sport with qualified instructors who have both played and coached at the higher levels of college and high school.
"Most camps are filled with morning drills and skills activities and the afternoon spent with playing the games in inter-league play against players from within the camps with similar skills," he said. "Here they learn how to develop team work. These camps help develop personal skills in the sport they attend as well as leadership skills and team work is developed while developing their skill levels. Each camp is designed to help kids from the beginner to those interested in playing school ball."
Kids will need to bring water bottles for all the sports camps and dress in appropriate gym shorts, T-shirts and sneakers. Children involved in volleyball camp will need to bring shin and knee pads. Baseball campers should bring bats, gloves, helmets, and cleats if they have them. Since baseball, golf, and soccer camps are outdoors, sunscreen is also advised. Both volleyball and basketball camps are indoors in the gym. Most of the camps cost $65 for the week, and are offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Powell Middle Schools or Challenger K-8. For an additional $10, before and after care is available from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
