Light Up Ridge Manor

The sixth annual Light Up Ridge Manor Christmas Festival presented by the Greater Hernando Chamber of Commerce runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Sunrise Plaza, 31100 Cortez Blvd. in Brooksville. There will be children's games and activities, a Chinese auction and much more. Admission is free and Santa Claus will be making a special appearance. All proceeds benefit the Chamber Education Training Association.

A Hi-Lites holiday

The Hernando Hi-Lites invites you to their fifth annual Christmas Show at 7 p.m. Friday at the Community Fellowship Church, 11250 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill. Get in the spirit of Christmas with the only ladies' barbershop chorus.

Chatter, the Christmas elf, will make a surprise appearance spreading joy and passing out goodies. Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate or coffee and cookies after the show.

Admission is free, and an offering will be collected with a portion to be donated to the Hi-Lites' student grant program. For information, call Norma at (352) 540-9192.

Orchestra concert

The Hernando Symphony Orchestra presents its first concert of the 2013-2014 season, "Music for the Holidays," at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Stage West Community Playhouse, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. Each concert features a cash prize raffle.

General Admission ticket prices are $15 for adults, and $6 for students in grades K-12. Purchase your tickets in person at the Stage West box office, or by calling the box office at the number below. Season tickets are available and may be purchased at the box office or online.

Holiday pet adoptions

Bring your furry pal along to Pets in the Park-Holiday Shopping and Adoption Day, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Tom Varn Park, 306 Darby Lane in Brooksville. Enjoy holiday shopping and visit with furry guests who have a holiday wish to find a "forever home."

Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Proceeds benefit the Humane Society of the Nature Coast.
