Food and a flick

Gather the family for an outdoor evening of unique food and a movie at the Food Truck Fiesta and a Flick, at 5 p.m. today at Weeki Wachee High School, 12150 Vespa Way, Weeki Wachee. There will be activities and games for the kids, unique eats from the food trucks, and a free movie on the lawn. (Bring lawn chairs.) Beverages and movie snacks will be available from the Booster Club.

Fallen officers honored

The annual Hernando County Fallen Officer Law Enforcement Memorial Barbecue and Bike Ride is set for Saturday at Lonnie Coburn Park, 19340 Oliver St., Brooksville.

Join motorcycle riders in honor of fallen officers of the Hernando County Sheriff's Department and then stay for a barbecue lunch for $5 a plate. Registration is at 11 a.m. and kickstands up at noon. Afternoon activities include live music by the Blues Pig Band, a live auction and door prizes. Bike ride registration is $20 per bike.

Family Beach Bash

Join the Friends of Weeki Wachee for a Family Beach Bash from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Buccaneer Bay, 6131 Commercial Way, Spring Hill. Admission is $5 per person with under 2 free. Geared for elementary-aged children and younger, the Beach Bash features water fun, music, raffles/prizes and food. Proceeds benefit park improvements.

Super car show

The Sunshine State Muscle Car Club presents its 12th annual Spring Super Car Show this Sunday at Brooksville Transmission & Complete Automotive Care Center, 16402 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville. The annual spring show features car show awards, a 50/50 raffle, silent auction, games, door prizes, food and entertainment. Car show entry is $15 in advance or $20 on the day of the show. The public is invited and admission is free.

Stage West's 'Best Little Whorehouse'

Charity golf tourney assists education

Hernando County Education Foundation hosts its inaugural Charity Golf Tournament, “Tee Up for Education,” with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. today at Silverthorn Country Club, 4550 Golf Club Lane, Brooksville. Jazz Society presents season-ender show

Hernando Jazz Society wraps up its 2013-2014 season with a musical performance titled “See You in September,” from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Wellington Clubhouse, 400 Wexford Blvd., Spring Hill. Admission for non-members is $10 per person or $15 per couple, and HJS members are admitted free. The Sioux City Grill will offer a cash bar and buffet (not included with admission). Several cash scholarships will be awarded to recent audition winners from grades 9 through 12. These talented youngsters also will perform. New members and musicians are welcome.

American Legion to honor veterans

Members of American Legion Auxiliary 186, Spring Hill, will place Flags on the graves of veterans at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Brooksville Cemetery, 1275 Olmes Road, Brooksville. The Auxiliary along with and other organizations will be placing 600 American flags. The public is welcome.
