Bolton: Your brain is your Fountain of Youth

Published:

Is there such a thing as the Fountain of Youth? Believe it or not there is.

Could it be a new fangled pill that’s on the horizon? An herb from halfway around the world? An artesian mud bath on some exotic island? Is it from a sea creature they found thousands of fathoms underwater? Or maybe it’s nothing more than a hot new love interest?

Not to disappoint you, but it’s none of the above. It’s better than that, much better. Now think. Oops! I gave it away. Yea, you guessed it. That’s right, it’s your brain. Not very pretty to look at if you could see it. Looks like a whole walnut. By the way, walnuts are good for the brain. I’m sending a truck-load to Washington D.C. I digress. If you crack open a walnut and look inside, it has two hemispheres, left and right, just like your brain.

I know, you’re saying how can the brain be the fountain of youth? Well, first of all a healthy brain never ages, it only gets wiser, not always true with politicians. Again, I digress.

So what am I trying to say? You are what you think, say and do. Well, that sounds simple enough, but if I try this at my older age it won’t get rid of my wrinkles, my gray hair, put hair on my head, make me walk better, or look like I was when I was 20 years old. You know you’re absolutely right to a degree, but you’re missing the point. You’re too busy looking at the cover and not the inner pages of your thoughts.

Back to the brain again. Thoughts are things. Look around you, everything was created. Well what does that have to do with anything? When you create something it’s born. You give life to a new idea. For instance, writing a book, a new recipe, a revolutionary design, new invention, a painting you did, something you have built, a scientific discovery or cure, etc. You see, you give birth to whatever inspires you. It’s a new beginning, not just a superficial cover you see in the mirror.

In martial arts I teach visualization and the use of energy fields that the mind can tap into. It works because the brain is the most powerful piece of equipment your body has. However, there’s a catch and that is, you will not find your fountain of youth if you take advantage of people, think bad thoughts, say bad things, lie, cheat, steal, smoke, drink, do drugs, are deceitful, slander others, use your power for less than noble purposes, are a church going hypocrite or phony, etc. It will only make you old inside and out. In other words, all bets are off.

That’s the law of nature, which is just and fair without fail. The universe is made of checks and balances, otherwise there would be chaos. Your looks and health for the most part are tied to your thoughts, whether that be for good or bad. Follow these laws and you could be forever young, no matter what your chronicle age is. So snap to it! Go create something and let your brain be your fountain of youth.
