No one knows anything

I am absolutely amazed that for such significant events such as Benghazi, the IRS, and the Associated Press, no one in charge knows anything. I am reminded about "Filegate" during the Clinton administration when hundreds of FBI background investigative files on Republicans ended up in the White House. Craig Livingstone, the head of the Office of Personnel Security, requested these files.

No one at the time knew who hired him or how he came to be in such a position of authority. We still do not know who hired him. Does that sound familiar?

The president did not learn about the illegal actions of the Internal Revenue Service as it made it more difficult for conservative organizations to acquire a nonprofit assignment.

His chief of staff and counsel both knew about it weeks before, but supposedly did not think that he should be advised of the actions.

Attorney General Eric Holder pleaded ignorance to the Justice Department seizing two months files from the Associated Press and recused himself from the investigation.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was unaware of any requests for additional security from her people in Libya. She also did not know that the attack on the diplomatic mission was by terrorists and not the result of an anti-Muslim video.

No one in a position of authority seems to know anything about anything. David Axelrod, a key political advisor to the president, offered the excuse that the government is too large for anyone to be in control of what occurs. I agree, and that is the major reason to reduce the size and scope of this government.

What is frightening is that the IRS is scheduled to have a key part in the implementation of Obamacare as it hires an additional 16,000 agents.

It seems like the country is undergoing the Chinese water torture as new data is released each day concerning a new aspect of the IRS and its harassment of various groups. It is a drip, drip, drip with no end.

To add to the drama, on Wednesday, Lois Lerner who oversaw the approval process for nonprofit organizations, appeared before a congressional committee and after an opening statement refused to answer any questions, citing the Fifth Amendment.

Congressman Issa has stated that he will have her reappear before his committee to answer questions about the affair.

Americans want the truth. Four Americans were murdered in Benghazi, our First Amendment is under attack by the Justice Department and the IRS has apologized for targeting conservative groups.

All of this, and no one seems to be in charge. I doubt that. Heads should be rolling and I doubt if it is just underlings who are at fault.
