60 marijuana plants seized

BROOKSVILLE - Detectives from the Hernando County Sheriff's Office served three search warrants on Jayson Drive on Wednesday and found 60 marijuana plants and other drugs.

The addresses served were 8126, 8134 and 8156 Jayson Drive, and three men were arrested.

At the three residencies, law enforcement found 60 marijuana plants, 6.5 grams of methamphetamine, 25 capsules of an unknown substance and drug paraphernalia.

Robert Schmidt, 46, was booked on charges of possession of a structure for cultivation of marijuana, three counts of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine, 10 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a legend drug without a prescription. He is being held on $40,500 bond.

Carl Schmidt, 49, was booked on charges of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana more than 20 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on $10,500 bond.

Michael Gariepy, 49, was booked on three counts of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine, five counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a legend drug without a prescription. He is being held on $28,000 bond.
