Arrested man asks deputy to get his illegal drugs

Published:

SPRING HILL A man arrested on a grand theft charge Friday asked a deputy to enter his room for him and retrieve illegal medications so they could be brought with him into the jail, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

The deputy retrieved the plastic bag from the room of Michael Silver, 45, of Spring Hill, and when the deputy returned Silver said it was the correct bag. Prior to transporting Silver to the Hernando County Jail the deputy checked the medications, which were identified as 1.5 pills of Alprazolam and ¾ of a pill of Oxycodone.

Silver could not provide prescriptions for them, according to the report, and could not provide a pharmacy where he obtained them.

Silver was arrested on two charges of being in actual or constructive possession of a controlled substance, in addition to the grand theft of a motor vehicle charge. He’s being held on $9,000 bond.
