Brooksville man arrested after taking adult diapers, police say

BROOKSVILLE - A Brooksville man continued to be held on $2,000 bail after trying to return adult diapers for cash at Wal-Mart, according to Brooksville Police.

A loss prevention officer spotted Bruce Clement, 56, take adult diapers off of the shelf at the 7305 Broad St. store on Tuesday evening.

He tried to return the diapers, valued at $60.52, for cash at customer service, according to police.

He was detained until Brooksville Police officers arrived, an arrest report shows.

A background check showed Clement had been arrested for theft four previous times, and the Brooksville man was arrested on charges of retail theft (three or more prior convictions).

Court records also show Clement has been convicted of grand theft, dealing in stolen property, reckless driving, fleeing to elude law enforcement, uttering a forged instrument and possession of cocaine in Hernando County in the past.
