BROOKSVILLE - Shayne McFarland, 22, was booked on criminal mischief charges Friday kicking out a patrol car window.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office was investigating a physical disturbance in the area of Egret and Nuzum Roads when they saw McFarland "agitated and upset," according to an arrest affidavit.

When a deputy asked McFarland if he lives on Nuzum Road, McFarland said he did, and when asked if he wanted to go home, McFarland said "just take me to jail," according to the report.

McFarland returned to the house in handcuffs, where he saw his sister being put into a patrol car.

McFarland became enraged, the affidavit shows, and kicked out the patrol car's window.

Because he was on felony probation for a burglary charge, McFarland is being held on no bond.
