Brooksville man picked up on armed burglary warrant

BROOKSVILLE Dustin Odum, 21, was picked up by Brooksville police early Thursday morning after a traffic stop found the man had an active warrant for an armed burglary charge.

Odum is on probation, and being held at the Hernando County Jail on no bond. He will be arraigned on April 23 for the charges, which also include burglary, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and probation violation.

Court records show Odum served about eight months of jail time in 2011 and avoided a guilty adjudication on burglary and criminal mischief charges. Odum became a convicted felon in February when he was convicted of grand theft and resisting an officer without violence, and sentenced to 23 days time served, 3 years of probation and 50 hours of community service.
