BROOKSVILLE - Brooksville police arrested Wayne and Regina Montgomery, of Ridgewood Avenue, Wednesday night after a traffic stop.

Wayne Montgomery, 44, was booked on charges of habitual driving with a suspended license. After he was taken into custody, Regina Montgomery got out of their silver Ford van, dropping a package of pills that were in her lap.

Regina Montgomery, 58, told the officer the pills were "only Vicodin (hydrocodone) and they were given to her by a friend," according to the affidavit.

The package contained 32 pills and weighed 21.4 grams, and Regina Montgomery was arrested on charges of trafficking in hydrocodone.

Jail booking records show both are being held on $5,000 bond. If released, they will not be able to contact each other, the records show.
