A Brooksville woman faces theft charges after deputies say she stole from a convenience store where she worked by placing cash in her shirt and bra.

Kristina Nichole Brown, 29, is believed to have stolen $4,557 from a Circle K in Ridge Manor during 17 days between May 26 and June 25, according to a report from the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office. Every day that she worked, at least $100 was missing from the safe, the report said.

When questioned by investigators, Brown said she took the money while conducting “money drops,” according to the report. Brown would put money into drop tubes to be placed in the safe. However, as she bent over to put the tubes in the safe, she would take the money out and place it in her shirt and bra, according to the report.

Brown was arrested on Tuesday and taken to the Hernando County Detention Center where she was being held on $5,000 bail.
