BROOKSVILLE - Certified public accountant Bill Kemerer has filed to run for Brooksville City Council Seat 4.

Kemerer, 63, lives in Southern Hills Plantation, and moved to Brooksville with his wife in 2012.

At Southern Hills, Kemerer said he has been appointed to the homeowner's association board of directors and other committees.

He also spent 10 years with the Westchase Community Development District. Kemerer said while serving on these boards, he worked on community issues such as road improvements, crime prevention, budgets and financing facilities in the community.

"I look forward to using my knowledge and experience to help meet the current and future challenges facing the city," Kemerer said in a press release.

Kemerer holds a bachelor's of science in business administration from The Ohio State University.

He moved to Florida in 1977, and has previously worked as vice president of finance for a hotel development and management company.
