Deputies: Spring Hill woman hit husband with Christmas tree

Published:

SPRING HILL - A Spring Hill woman was charged with domestic violence after hitting her husband with a 2-foot-tall Christmas tree, deputies said.

An arrest report shows Ashley Lynn Jenkins, 29, of Spring Hill, was in a verbal argument with her husband, which turned physical.

Jenkins' husband went to another room to de-escalate the situation at which time Jenkins went into their bedroom and "began throwing items all around the room," the arrest report said.

Jenkins then approached her husband again, screaming, and struck him several times with an open hand on the neck, face, and head, according to the report.

"(Jenkins) then proceeded to grab a 2-foot-tall decorative Christmas tree which was nearby," the report states, "and began striking the victim with it."

The man sustained minor lacerations, according to the report.

"(Jenkins) was then taken into custody and became irate," and attempted to push and pull away from arresting deputies, according to the report.

Jenkins was being held at the Hernando County Jail without bond. Her mugshot was excluded from listed jail inmates.
