WEEKI WACHEE - Two teens were arrested Sunday in a criminal mischief spree.

At about 11 a.m. Sunday, deputies were called to the area of 7400 Jasbow Junction in reference to multiple acts of criminal mischief. The investigation resulted in the arrest of two teenagers, whose names were not released.

When they arrived, deputies were provided identifying information for two male juveniles who were believed to be responsible for committing 14 acts of criminal mischief during the late evening hours of Nov. 16.

During the investigation, deputies made contact with both juveniles, who admitted to deputies to sneaking out of their homes and spray painting offensive language and images on multiple garage doors, mailboxes and street signs in the area of Jasbow Junction, Calico Warbler Avenue and Desert Sparrow Avenue in Weeki Wachee.

Both teens told deputies that during the crime spree, some of the homes were targeted due to prior altercations with the residents and others were random. One of the teens showed deputies each of the locations where the marring had occurred.

The parents of both juveniles were cooperative and assisted with the investigation, according to the sheriff's office.

The amount of damage to the properties was approximately $1,000. All but two of the victims declined to seek prosecution.

The juveniles were each charged with one count of criminal mischief. They were transported to the Hernando County Jail and later released to the custody of their parents.
