Drunken argument over $6 leads to battery charge

Brooksville Police responded to an argument that turned physical Wednesday night.

According to a press release, Robert James Ward, 32, was drunk and arguing with his father about money. Ward is believed to have shoved the man, ripping his front pants pocket to grab $6.

Ward was arrested on charges of battery. He will be eligible for $100 bond Thursday afternoon.

Jail records show Ward has been arrested 12 times since late 2010 on charges including hit-and-run, disorderly intoxication, aggravated assault and battery and probation violation.

Ward has most recently been found guilty of disorderly conduct a misdemeanor charge and sentenced to about two months time served, according to court records.

Ward has been found guilty of the following felonies in the past: aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery, driving with a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident.
