BROOKSVILLE -

Gary Budek had nothing to say Tuesday before Judge Anthony Tatti found him guilty of a lewd and lascivious molestation of a minor.

The former Hernando County Realtors president, 50, was sentenced to five years of sex offender probation. He will also be required to register as a sex offender. Terms include a nightly curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., completing a sex offender treatment program, no contact with any person under 18 and a yearly polygraph test at his own expense.

Prosecutor Erin Corcoran Daly said that on more than one occasion between May and October 2012 Budek touched the breast of a child aged 12 to 16 years.

Daly read a statement from the victim, who wanted Budek and the court to know his actions left her feeling “hurt” and “damaged” her trust in adults.

The victim was ready to “heal” and put the ordeal behind her, Daly said.

Budek was arrested in December after apologizing to the victim for the sex act on a recorded phone call and released on $15,000 bond.

He resigned as realtors’ association president, and is no longer employed at Prudential Tropical Realty.
