SPRING HILL - The Hernando County Sheriff's Office arrested a woman Tuesday morning at the 14371 Spring Hill Drive Publix on charges of retail theft.

Karen Lynn Kertesz, 41, was seen by a loss prevention officer opening a package of dog bones and putting the bones in her purse.

Kertesz was seen putting pizza, shrimp, sea scallops and other items in a shopping basket before paying for prescription medications and walking out of the store without paying for the grocery items. The merchandise totaled $87.13, according to an arrest affidavit.

Kertesz, of Marschwren Avenue in Weeki Wachee, later told sheriff's deputies she was disoriented and walked out with the items accidentally.

The arrest affidavit lists Kertesz as working as a human resources manager at Micro-Matic.

The woman was released on $250 bond Tuesday afternoon.
