SPRING HILL - A Spring Hill man was arrested Monday afternoon after battering his girfriend and stealing and damaging her property, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.
An arrest affidavit shows Audretti Jones, 27, became angry with his girlfriend after she told him to move out of their home.
Jones punched the woman in face, then knocked her into a wall and ripped off her gold necklace. When the victim tried to call 911, Jones broke her phone, and the man broke an additional cell phone and television.
When the victim grabbed her purse and left the residence, Jones shoved her into a wall and shelf. Once the victim escaped, Jones took $327 and change from her purse, as well as a Samsung Galaxy cell phone.
The victim was later taken to Oak Hill Hospital for her injuries, which included a swollen eye, and an earring ripped out.
When law enforcement arrived, Jones put his hands together and told the deputy to take him to jail. Jones is being held on $7,000 bond on charges of battery, grand theft, criminal mischief/property damage and obstructing justice.
Court records show on April 26, Jones was adjudicated guilty on charges of possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence. In 2010, Jones was adjudicated guilty for driving with a suspended license with two prior charges, possession of cocaine, fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement and resisting an officer without violence. In 2009, Jones was found guilty of possession of cocaine and driving with a suspended or revoked license as a habitual offender. Jones has been found guilty of various misdeamnor and criminal traffic charges in the past.
