SPRING HILL - A Sail Boat Lane man continued to be held on $10,000 bond Wednesday after being booked on aggravated child abuse charges.

According to an arrest affidavit, personnel at Explorer K-8 reported the alleged abuse by Brian Wolfe early Tuesday when a 5-year-old boy was seen with a bite mark on his arm and slap mark on his face. Wolfe, 29, is also believed to have spanked the child with a belt about five times.

Investigators believe the alleged abuse occurred the night before when the boy accidentally stepped on a toy cash register belonging to a 4-year-old girl, and Wolfe became enraged.

Wolfe said he thought he did go "overboard with his punishment" but denied slapping the child.
