SPRING HILL - A woman who admitted to stealing about $60 of makeup from Sweetbay Supermarket on Thursday was already on probation for misdemeanor retail theft.

According to a Hernando County Sheriff Office arrest affidavit, Linda Mary Ambrose was seen by a loss prevention officer at the 4221 Mariner Blvd. paying for groceries, but hiding four bottles of Covergirl Simply Ageless Blush Makeup and walking out of the store.

Ambrose, 51, was cooperative and said she did not have cash to pay for the makeup but did have a debit card.

Ambrose, of 5135 Kenmore St., Spring Hill, was booked at the Hernando County Jail on charges of shoplifting and probation violation.

Because Ambrose was on probation for retail theft charges, she is being held on no bond.

Court records show Ambrose was convicted of the theft charge in May.
