HCSO: Three convenience stores sold alcohol to minors

Published:

Employees at three Hernando County convenience stores sold alcohol to minors on Thursday, the Hernando County Sheriff's Office reported.

The three stores were among seven observed during the alcohol compliance check.

The stores accused of selling alcohol to minors were: Circle K at 6227 Deltona Blvd.; Racetrac at 9410 Cortez Blvd.; and Mobil at 4159 Mariner Blvd.

Three clerks at the stores must attend a training class, "Promoting Retailers Education Program," through the Hernando County Community Anti-Drug Coalition. Criminal charges could be filed if they do not attend, authorities said.

The four local stores that complied with alcohol laws were: Circle K at 13077 Cortez Blvd.; Jiffy at 4132 Deltona Blvd.; Hess at 3495 Deltona Blvd.; and Cumberland Farms at 5244 Mariner Blvd.

More operations are planned, sheriff's officials said.
