SPRING HILL A Spring Hill woman was arrested Thursday night for taking a paperback book from Publix, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

Dolly Valladares, 37, was seen putting a copy of “Guilty Wives” in her purse while grocery shopping. Valladares went through the checkout line to pay for her groceries, but did not pay for the book.

Valladares was stopped by a loss prevention officer and admitted to taking the paperback novel. The Spring Hill woman bonded out for $250 early Friday morning.

According to Amazon, the book by James Patterson costs about $10, though the Kindle version is free of charge.

Jail records show Valladares was arrested in 2011 for contempt of court, failure to pay child support.

Court records show Valladares was charged with a misdemeanor charge of petit theft on May 2.
