BROOKSVILLE - Hundreds of residents gathered Wednesday morning at VFW Post 10209 off Anderson Snow Road in Brooksville to remember the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Local law enforcement and fire/rescue crews were also in attendance for the ceremony lead by VFW officers, who fired a rifle salute and played "Taps" in honor of those lost in the wars of the last 12 years.
Everywhere flowers, American flags, and other nations' flags tattered in a sun-lit breeze.
County Commissioners and County Administrator Len Sossamon were among several local leaders in attendance. The ceremony lasted about an hour.
