Husband arrested after battering wife while waiting for tire change

BROOKSVILLE - A Brooksville man was arrested Friday after battering his estranged wife at a local hardware store.

According to Brooksville police, the victim was having a tire changed at Pickett's Hardware Store on W. Jefferson Street when Anthony Andrews, 30, grabbed her shirt and dragged her across the parking lot, according to the arrest report.

The victim was later seen with red marks around her neck and on her arms.

There were multiple witnesses, according to the police, and Andrews was arrested on domestic battery charges.

He remains at the Hernando County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bond.

Court records show Andrews has been found guilty of numerous felony and misdemeanor charges in the past.

The charges include trafficking in cocaine, possession of marijuana, resisting arrest and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
