Man arrested on charges of sexual battery and kidnapping

Published:

SPRING HILL - The Hernando County Sheriff's Office has picked up a man on warrant charges of sexual battery with physical force, likely to cause injury, and kidnapping.

An arrest affidavit shows John Daniel Packan, 34, was arrested "without incident" at his 10457 Mayflower Road home on Thursday morning.

The report did not include any details of the original offense, and Public Information Officer Denise Moloney said the case remains open and no additional information is available at this time.

Jail booking records show Packan was also booked on charges of marijuana possession and 19 counts of drug paraphernalia possession.

He is being held on no bond because he bonded out of jail on Sept. 27 on charges of aggravated stalking of a minor under 16 years and two counts of obstructing justice by harassing a victim or informant.

Court records show Packan has been convicted of numerous felony and misdemeanor charges in Hernando County, including possession of drug paraphernalia, battery, resisting an officer without violence, trespassing, burglary, assault, criminal mischief, fleeing and eluding police, injunction violation and reckless driving.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 29.
