BROOKSVILLE - A Spring Hill woman was arrested on multiple drug charges Friday after she was spotted taking a bottle of hair developer from Sally's Beauty Supply in Brooksville, according to a sheriff's office arrest affidavit.

A witness saw Tina Martin, 46, walk out of the store at 13164 Cortez Blvd. without paying for the item, and snapped a photo of her license plate.

Martin's car was located at the nearby Dollar Tree, and a deputy found the hair developer in her purse after she agreed to let him search it.

Martin was with a friend and her friend's 8-year-old daughter in the parking lot near the Dollar Tree. Witnesses said Martin had stolen multiple cosmetics and candy from the store - later valued by employees at $9, deputies said. Witnesses also said Martin started sticking the items in a backseat pouch because she "saw the cops coming," deputies said.

Law enforcement later found a small amount of methamphetamine and three Methadone tablets in Martin's purse, deputies said.

She was arrested on charges of retail theft (second offense), two counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bail was not set, according to jail records.

Court records show Martin was convicted of a misdemeanor theft charge in January, and sentenced to six months probation. She has been convicted on driving on a suspended or revoked license in the past, and in 2009, had her adjudication withheld on an organized fraud charge.
