SPRING HILL - Matthew Horne, 34, was sentenced to 125 months in prison for the crash that caused the death of a Spring Hill woman in 2012.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Horne was driving his Dodge Ram with a .106 blood alcohol level when he rammed into the back of Barbara Ward's Ford Escort on U.S. 19 near Spring Hill Drive on July 1.
Ward's car was pushed across a cement barrier and into a ditch. The 65-year-old died from her injuries a week later at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point.
Horne pleaded no contest to the charges of DUI manslaughter, and two counts of DUI with property damage. He was out-of-custody on $52,000 bond awaiting trial.
