Man pushes pregnant woman in Spring Hill bar, deputies say

Published:

SPRING HILL - The Hernando County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man they say pushed a pregnant woman after she refused to let him buy her a drink.

An arrest affidavit shows a Frank Farley, 48, was founded "stumbling" through a plaza at 4373 Commercial Way in Spring Hill on Tuesday afternoon. Farley, who appeared to be very intoxicated, was taken into custody after he said he would likely swing at Deputy Keith McCabe if he took his hand off of the deputy's patrol car.

After Farley was taken into custody, the victim told the deputy Farley offered to buy her a drink. When the woman told Farley she was pregnant, he "forcibly grabbed the victim by her left shoulder and in an aggressive manner, pushed her backwards, causing her to stumble," the report said.

The Spring Hill man later admitted pushing the woman and knowing she was pregnant, and "growl(ed)" and "laugh(ed)" while recounting the story, the report shows.

He was arrested on charges of aggravated battery of a pregnant person, and continues to be held at the Hernando County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.

Court records show Farley was convicted of a third DUI in 10 years in 2008.
