Published:

SPRING HILL A Brooksville man was arrested Sunday for allegedly pushing a woman to the ground, and standing over her with a three-inch blade, according to Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

Stephen Christopher Ohara, 38, was arrested on charges of battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, and damage to property over $200.

An arrest report states Ohara and a woman were at 1400 Larkin Road in Spring Hill on Saturday when Ohara allegedly shoved the woman’s upper back area, causing her to fall to the ground.

While on the ground Ohara stood over her with a three-inch blade with a brown handle, pointing toward the woman’s left abdomen, according to the report.

The woman told police Ohara was doing a thrusting motion with the blade, as if he was going to stab her, the report reads, and that the woman feared for her life, saying to Ohara while on the ground, “Stop this. Don’t do it, please!”

The woman told police that Ohara said, “I will not go out alone. You are going with me.”

The woman got to her feet and ran into the house, according to the report, and Ohara allegedly kicked the front door, causing numerous dents.

Ohara then did a “burnout” on the driveway, damaging it, the report shows.

Ohara is being held on a total bond amount of $2,500.
