Sheriff’s office: Alcohol poisoning leads to party arrest

Published:

MASARYKTOWN Alex Morera, 18, was arrested on one count of possessing liquor Tuesday night at his house after an “open party” caused a guest to seize due to alcohol poisoning.

According to a Hernando County Sheriff Office arrest affidavit, EMS and fire rescue responded along with law enforcement to Morera’s residence at 1065 Jenkins Ave. to treat the victim.

Morera told a responding deputy he threw the party, and knowingly allowed underage party-goers to drink alcohol to get drunk.

Morera continued to be held on $500 bond at the jail Wednesday, according to booking records.
