BROOKSVILLE — Two men have been arrested and charged with armed robbery and firing a weapon at a residence.
According to deputies, Zachary Douthit and Devlin Kincy drove to the home of a former acquaintance and fired rounds of ammunition at the residence, striking the home and a vehicle parked in the driveway.
Sheriff’s officials had not released the address of the home but confirmed no one inside was injured as a result of the shooting.
Later the same day, Douthit and Kincy drove to a Motel 6 at 6172 Commercial Way to commit a robbery, a sheriff’s report stated.
Douthit and Kincy pushed their way into the room of an acquaintance known to be staying there, and used firearms to commit a robbery on the acquaintance and two other occupants in the room, the report says.
Sheriff’s officials released no additional details about the alleged crimes.
On Thursday, Hernando County deputies found Douthit and Kincy and the weapons that authorities say were used in both offenses.
Douthit, 20, and Kincy, 19, were arrested and charged with shooting into a dwelling, discharge of a firearm from a vehicle and armed robbery. Bail for both men was $70,000.
