Sheriff's office nabs Hernando's most wanted fugitive

SPRING HILL - The Hernando County Sheriff's Office arrested the county's most wanted fugitive on Wednesday in Spring Hill.

Deputies received information Naeem Johnson, 25, was at Carriage Crossing Apartments on Barclay Avenue.

Deputies took Johnson into custody without incident, according to the sheriff's office.

A search of the apartment found a loaded .380 firearm and a small amount of marijuana, deputies said.

Johnson was arrested on felony warrant charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, two counts of possession of marijuana, possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of MDMA (ecstasy), possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of community control.

Johnson, who was on probation for a driving with a suspended license, was not granted bail.

Court records show Johnson has previously been convicted of 12 felonies and numerous misdemeanors. He was incarcerated from 2010-2011, prison records show.
