BROOKSVILLE - A man serving probation for grand theft was arrested Thursday after deputies said he handed over three pairs of stolen Nike socks.

Adam Price, 24, was seen running out of a Bealls store at 13190 Cortez Blvd. by a loss prevention officer, Hernando County sheriff's officials reported.

Price was found at a bus stop a short time later and "spontaneously stated that he had the socks inside his jacket," an arrest report states.

He was arrested on charges of petit theft and violation of probation. Price, who is on probation out of Pasco County, is being held with no bail.

Court records show Price has been convicted of theft multiple times.
