Spring Hill teen rolls SUV after taking grandfather's keys, deputies say

SPRING HILL - A 15-year-old Spring Hill boy who took his grandfather's Isuzu Trooper without his permission caused a roll-over accident on Saturday, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.

The teen, whose name is not being printed because he is a juvenile, was arrested on charges of grand theft auto. According to an arrest affidavit, the teen, who is not a licensed driver, took the key from his grandfather's key ring.

He later rolled the vehicle over in the area of Coronado and Spring Hill Drives, and fled the scene on foot, deputies said.

The teen was released back to his grandfather by the Department of Juvenile Justice after being booked, according to the sheriff's office.
