SPRING HILL - A cashier at the JCPenny in Spring Hill was arrested Friday on fraud charges after an investigation alleged she stole a total of $600 from the register drawer.
Cynthia Marie Miranda, 29, of Spring Hill, was allegedly seen on store surveillance video removing cash from the drawer and placing it into her pocket, according to an arrest report.
The report said Miranda took money from the register in $100 increments, starting Aug. 30 to Sept. 28, for a total of $600.
When a supervisor at the store confronted Miranda about the thefts, Miranda allegedly admitted to stealing the money and was cooperative, the report shows.
"(Miranda) also provided a sworn written statement admitting to stealing the money," the report shows.
She was taken to the Hernando County Detention Center without incident, and is being held
