Spring Hill woman wins $1 million in lottery

Two lottery players in the Tampa Bay area won big with $1 million payoffs in different games.

Greta Engstrom, 66, of Spring Hill, got a $1 million prize when her ticket matched five white balls in the Mega Millions drawing on Jan. 31. Engstrom purchased her ticket from the Winn-Dixie at 11092 Spring Hill Drive in Spring Hill. The store received a $1,000 bonus for selling that ticket.

Shakira Fontalvo, 20, of Tampa, claimed a $1 million prize for matching five white balls in the Powerball drawing on, Feb. 8, according to Florida Lottery officials. She bought her ticket at the Sweetbay at 13508 Florida Ave. in Tampa. The retailer received a $1,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

The next Powerball drawing will be held at 10:59 p.m. Wednesday with an estimated $284 million jackpot.
