BROOKSVILLE - A crash just before 9 a.m. on Tuesday along State Road 50 sent four people to the hospital.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Gladys Hyatt Smith was driving west on S.R. 50 when she attempted to turn left into a strip mall.

Smith turned into oncoming traffic, according to the FHP.

While turning, a Chevy Cobalt driven by Nathan Ott, 33, hit Smith's Ford Fusion. After the crash, Ott's car ended up in a ditch.
