Suspect of two robbery warrants arrested in Brooksville

BROOKSVILLE - A man wanted for robbery charges out of both Pasco and Sumter counties was arrested Sunday behind a home on Hazel Avenue in Brooksville.

Brooksville Police received information from Sumter County and Dade City detectives regarding outstanding warrants for Christopher Leon Edwards, 44, according to Brooksville Police.

Police responded to 311 E. MLK Blvd, where officers tried to make contact with Edwards before he ran from the residence. After a brief foot chase, police took Edwards into custody behind a home on Hazel Avenue.

Dispatch confirmed three outstanding warrants, and took Edwards to Hernando County Jail where he is being held without bond for probation violation, $15,000 for armed robbery, and robbery.
