BROOKSVILLE - The results of a months-long undercover operation reached fruition Saturday when the Hernando County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant on a home on 8315 Spring Hill Drive and arrested eight people and seized drugs, paraphernalia and money.

From the residence, deputies seized 5.5 grams of cocaine, six tablets of Dilaudid, 2.55 grams of marijuana, numerous items of drug paraphernalia (including baggies and a scale) and $1,310 in currency.

.Jason Haynes, 25, booked on three counts of violation of probation and failure to appear warrants

.Two juveniles, whose names were not released, were arrested on drug charges, booked into jail and released to guardian.

"Over the last several months, our vice and narcotics unit has been developing the evidence necessary to conduct these most recent search warrants," Nienhuis said in a press release.

"Unfortunately, due to the nature of their work, the average citizen is not able to see all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to get an investigation to this point," Nienhuis said. "Our citizens can rest assured, however, that, even when they don't see law enforcement activity at a problem location, there is a good chance that an in-depth investigation is under way."
