Woman booked on grand theft charges

Published:

SPRING HILL A transient woman was picked up on grand theft charges Monday after taking jewelry, shoes, a handbag, shampoo and conditioner and a camera from a Spring Hill residence, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

Jamie Bodwell, 31, is dating the son of the victims, and was occasionally living at their Elder Street residence.

Bodwell was apprehended at Ryan Street and Talbot Circle, and was “in possession of multiple bags that she claimed contained her personal belongings,” according to the arrest affidavit. The bags contained the victim’s jewelry in small tin containers, and other items.

Bodwell was also wearing four bracelets that belonged to the victim, the affidavit said. She was booked at the Hernando County Jail on charges of grand theft.

Court records show Bodwell was adjudicated guilty of grand theft in 2010, and jail records show she violated probation that same year.
