Woman: Dog ate vehicle title

Published:
BROOKSVILLE -

After being pulled over for driving a pickup without a license plate on Tuesday afternoon, Tenia McCard told a deputy her dog ate the title, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

The 44-year-old Brooksville woman said she had been driving around without the tag for about a month and a half after purchasing the Ford F150 from a man in Georgia.

Once the previous owner signed over the truck, McCard said her dog chewed the title, and could not register the vehicle in Florida because of the “tattered condition.”

McCard was arrested on charges of failure to register a motor vehicle, and released on $500 bond.

Jail records do not indicate she has been arrested in Hernando County in the past.
