Four injured in five-car crash in Brooksville

BROOKSVILLE - Four were injured Wednesday afternoon during a five-car wreck at the intersection of Barclay Avenue and State Road 50.

A Florida Highway Patrol report states Dawn Heather McLaughlin, of Irving Street, lost consciousness while driving north on Barclay Avenue towards State Road 50.

The report shows McLaughlin hit four cars waiting at the red light, injuring Ginger Taylor, of Dade City, Elizabeth Knotts, of Spring Hill, and David Villiers, of Brooksville.

McLaughlin also was injured, and all were taken to Oak Hill Hospital, the report shows. The report specifies McLaughlin was not suspected of drug use.

McLaughlin was cited for careless driving, according to the report.
