BROOKSVILLE - Jennifer E. Wood, 33, was arrested on aggravated assault charges after authorities accused her of threatening her boyfriend with a knife Thursday night, Hernando County sheriff's officials said.
According to the boyfriend, deputies said, Wood was angry that other women were sending him text messages. During an argument at their High Corner Road home, she grabbed a knife and began stabbing his cellphone, sheriff's officials said.
When the man told her to stop, Wood moved toward him brandishing the knife, an arrest affidavit stated. The man was able to hold down Wood, and she bit his upper arm, according to the report.
After getting the knife away from her, the man called law enforcement officials.
Wood told an arriving deputy she had a knife, but did not attack her boyfriend, deputies said.
She was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and was being held in jail on $2,500 bail.
Court records show Wood previously has been convicted of battery, fraudulent use of identification information, possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license.
