Weeki Wachee - Junior

COMMENTS: Paced the Lady Hornets with 246 kills, to go along with 48 aces and 20 blocks . Posted 10 kills in Weeki Wachee's Class 5A, District 7 semifinal victory over Wesley Chapel, lifting Lady Hornets to first-ever regional berth . Notched 16 kills, four blocks and three aces in 5A-7 final against Hernando . Named Florida Athletic Coaches Association District 10 Player of the Year for 5A . Will not be returning next season, having already moved to Tennessee.

QUOTES: "In the beginning she wasn't all there due to family issues. Her mom moved out of state. After she knew what she was doing and was able to stay, she started playing and had a very good season there on after. . Her quickness, her agility, she's always on the go. She was always aggressive at the net. She never gave up. She was a team player, she really was. Everybody wanted to watch her play."

COMMENTS: Showed great progress in second year as a libero . Became a team leader and considered the best passer . Anchored the back row for the Lady Leopards, who went 17-6 overall in one of their most successful seasons over the past decade.

QUOTES: "Being able to read the ball; she lines up well with her arm swing. She pays attention to body movement. . This year she progressed to a faster readable pace. Ninety-nine percent of the time she was on the court in the back row and always played on the strong side."

Hernando - Freshman

COMMENTS: A huge addition to the Lady Leopards' front line, becoming their leading hitter as the team captured the 5A-7 title, the team's first district crown since 2004 . Had 17 kills in 5A-7 semifinal win over Nature Coast and 10 kills in regional quarterfinal loss to Anclote.

QUOTES: "Ali is a tremendous athlete. We call her a freshman, but she's already above others in the game. She far exceeded what I expected as a freshman. . She's an all-around player. She's a go-getter. She will hustle, go for the ball. She has a positive attitude. She's strong. Obviously she has the height. She's willing to listen and work hard at it. . She'd be one I would say would get a D-I scholarship if her progress continues."

Weeki Wachee - Junior

COMMENTS: Dished out 658 assists, and totaled 106 digs, 75 aces and 32 kills . Tallied seven aces against Wesley Chapel in 5A-7 semi and 23 assists in final against Hernando.

QUOTES: "It all begins with the passers and the setter. She had her moments, but she always pulled it together. She hustled hard out there. Taking on the setting position, that's a lot. . She put everything into this year and I expect to see a lot more out of her next year, too. . She was very effective. She just knew where to go to, who the hot hitter was. She was very smart on the placement of her passes."

COMMENTS: Lone repeat All-County selection . Helped the Lady Eagles to a 13-10 record . Named FACA District 10 Player of the Year for 6A.

QUOTES: "She had a really great season. She distributed the ball really, really well. She did good also with serving. She led us in aces. . She was more confident and she became a really good leader and someone we could turn to. . She was key. If she was touching the ball then we knew something good would come from it."

Weeki Wachee - Sophomore

COMMENTS: Registered 318 digs playing in the back row with a 2.32 out of 3.0 passer ratio . Despite being under 5-foot, was a stout defender against hard spikes and could return the ball with some authority.

QUOTES: "She always hustles. She never lets a ball hit the ground. For her little size she always packs a punch. . It's not like she has to bend down (for a dig). She's very quick on her feet. She knows how to read the ball very well. She's just a great back-row player. . I still see her progressing to a higher level. Her love is volleyball and she wants to focus on going to college. . She's got a lot of heart and hustle, too, that one."

Tana McDaniel

Hernando - Senior

COMMENTS: Team captain for the Lady Leopards . Gave a speech to rally the team in 5A-7 semifinal, after Hernando had blown a 2-0 lead in the match and was nearly upset by Nature Coast . Served seven straight points with two aces in the fifth game of that match to help overcome a 9-5 deficit to the Lady Sharks, en route to a 15-11 triumph . Had five kills and three blocks in 5A-7 title match against Weeki Wachee.

QUOTES: "She's an animal, she really is. She was our main leader. All the girls looked up to her. She has energy, she's a go-getter. She was the one when the team was down to say something to motivate and get them going. . This year she became a blocker, where she shut people down that she hadn't in the past. . She's a great student, a great kid and an all-around athlete."

Zavana Schmit

Nature Coast - Senior

COMMENTS: Far and away the team leader with 173 kills through first 22 matches . Also paced Lady Sharks with 37 aces, 66 blocks and 232 digs . Had 12 kills in 5A-7 semifinal loss to Hernando.

QUOTES: "She was definitely our leader on the court. She was our best hitter, our best blocker. When you look at the stat line, you can see she led us in a lot of important categories. . It's been fun to see her development from her freshman season to her senior season. She'll tell you volleyball is not her number one sport, but she was our go-to player and really stepped up for us."

Weeki Wachee - Freshman

COMMENTS: Tallied 235 kills and 332 digs in her rookie campaign on the prep level . Had eight kills and six aces in 5A-7 semifinal versus Wesley Chapel . Contributed 10 kills in district finale against Hernando . Followed in footsteps of older sister Halie, a senior in 2012 who was the program's first All-County selection last year.

QUOTES: "Miranda had a pretty good year for being a freshman. She played very well. She was hot and cold like any other player is, but she always pulled it together. . She was a very good digger. . She was always good with hitting. Her serving was consistent. Her and Zoe were the best passers on the team, getting the ball to the setter. She has very good ball control. She plays with a lot of heart, too."

Weeki Wachee - 3rd year

COMMENTS: Guided the Lady Hornets to a 7-36 mark over their first two fledgling varsity campaigns before they leapt to 16-11 this season . Became the first team in any sport in school history to advance to regionals, ending up as the 5A-7 runners-up to Hernando . Went 10-2 in district play overall, and split the season series with the Lady Leopards, 2-2, including a win in the Fivay Volleyball Classic . Named FACA District 10 Coach of the Year for 5A.

QUOTES: "It's an awesome thing. We've been building the program for the last three years and going from winning seven games the first two seasons to a 16-11 record, pretty much making history with the school, it's pretty awesome. . If it wasn't for the girls coming together, we wouldn't be where we were. It was all a team effort. . You have to be dedicated to it. It's not like the job is over (after the season). The girls are in club and we go straight into conditioning. The girls do it because they love the sport and that's what you do it for. . They're going to want to practice harder for next season because they know they're a good team and they know they can do better than what they did."
