For the first time in league history, Spring Hill Dixie Baseball has captured a World Series crown.
On Thursday night in Lexington, S.C., Spring Hill’s AAA Minors (ages 9-10) All-Stars defeated the state champions from South Carolina, 8-4, in a winner-take-all final.
Meanwhile at the same venue, the Spring Hill’s “O”Zone (ages 11-12) All-Stars finished as World Series runners-up, falling in Thursday’s final to Alabama, 7-4.
Previously the league had a team finish as high as runner-up once, the Senior Boys (ages 14) in 2008.
