TRINITY-- Though conditions started to get a bit rough toward the latter end of the day, Mitchell's Shyanne Dove was still able to come away with her best individual score of her prep career.

Dove shot a 77 and helped lead Mitchell to a team score low of 334 and a trip to the state tournament after claiming the Class 2A, Region V title Tuesday evening at the Heritage Springs Golf Course.

Mitchell and Land O' Lakes (396) ended up being the top two teams and will be moving onto the state tournament, with Fivay (402), Zephryyhills (408), Sunlake (424), Hernando (463) and Nature Coast Technical (525) rounding out the team scores. Tarpon Springs' team did not finish.

Sunlake's Kelly Harris and Springstead's Kylie Van Meter finished with identical scores of 85 and will be the two individuals moving onto states from the region.

"It is a very difficult, but beautiful course. I'm just excited that I'll be moving on," Van Meter said. "I've been working hard all summer on earning this opportunity and I just can't believe this is happening. I improved upon my putting today from last week."
