HUDSON - Weeki Wachee was looking to rebound from last week's mistake-filled loss to Springstead.
Instead, head coach Mark Lee and the Hornets will have to figure out what they can do to improve amongst the front seven.
Hudson relied upon the big boys up front, as they plowed the way for 347 yards rushing, en route to a 35-22 victory against Weeki Wachee (1-2) Friday night at Cobra Stadium.
"We went to work this week and let the offensive line know that we go as they go," Hudson head coach Mark Kantor said.
Senior tailback Noah Siegrist (29 carries, 234 yards) had his breakout game and in a big way. Siegrist busted off sprints of 21, 53, 31 and 18 yards during the first half and also punched in scoring runs of five and one yard, respectively.
Hudson (2-1) looked to possibly put the game away early, as Zach Russell (six carries, 79 yards) picked off a Marcus Allen (five catches, 99 yards) pass and returned it inside the Hornets' 20-yard line.
After an incompletion, Nate Binder's 30-yard field goal attempt would be partially blocked and kept the score at 21-10 Hudson.
Weeki Wachee kept fighting to stay in the game but with just a little over three minutes left, Russell notched his second interception, this time off Hornets quarterback David Tinch (12-of-25, 152 yards).
Tinch tied for a team-high in rushing yards, with 29 on the night. The Hornets rushed for 103 yards off 32 carries and racked up 12 first downs, as Weeki Wachee finished with 255 total offensive yards.
